Worshiping God
Worship is central to our life together. We love the reverence of our Rite II traditional liturgy. We take extra care in preparing for Holy Week, Christmas and other special times in the church year. We celebrate the Eucharist at least twice every Sunday; Wednesday morning we have Eucharist with healing prayers; and Wednesday evening services include contemporary music. From a wonderful chaotic Blessing of the Animals on the feast of St. Francis to celebrating Festival Eucharists with “smells and bells,” our worship proclaims the love of Christ.
Our adult choir sings every Sunday at the later service, and on occasion the children’s cherub choir sings. We are fortunate to have several talented, energetic guilds that support our liturgy at St. Thomas including a flower guild, altar guild, and our long standing St. Anne’s guild whose members lovingly provide our altar linens. Acolytes and lay readers assist in worship services along with lay Eucharistic ministers and our vocational deacon.
St. Thomas parish believes that we are all baptized into Christ’s holy and apostolic church, where the Lord’s Table is open to all Christians no matter where they are on their spiritual journey. We are fully committed to faithful worship that nourishes and inspires us to do God’s work in the world.
